Princess Kagome is a prisoner in her own home. Trapped by the rule of her stepfather. One day she runs away from her arranged marriage to some unknown prince only to be captured by pirates. Will she lose her life trying to escape or fall in love with the most unlikely of cut throats?

Inuyasha Taisho is a special victims unit detective in NYC. He's investigating a series of rapes that he believes are connected. Kagome Higurashi is a rape victim with a special destiny awaiting her. What will happen when he realizes he's falling in love with her? Will he risk the case and make his feelings known? Will he be afraid to because of the trauma she's been through? Kagome has just moved to New York City from her home in far-away Japan. She knows nothing about the vicious gangs of New York, and is quickly warned to stay away from the 'Untouchables,' three demons and a half-demon. She is told that they wouldn't think twice of killing her if she got in their way. Kagome is warned to stay particularily far away from Inuyasha, the half-demon who, it is rumored, murdered his whole family in cold blood. So Kagome stays away from the Untouchables, but makes enemies elsewhere when she says a few wrong things to Hojo, the leader of a vicious gang. She soon becomes the target of their anger, and one night when they take things too far, she is rescued by the person she was told was most likely to kill her, Inuyasha. She is terrified of him, but when Hojo's gang continues to molest her in increasingly horrifying ways, she must turn to the ones that everybody fears for help...

Will sparks ignite between the pair or will Inuyasha send her away to a new Master? Can he ever accept Kagome for who she is? Can she accept his way of life that is so different from hers? Will they be able to overcome society's prejudices? Or will things come crashing down around them? AU

This story takes place to where Inuyasha and Kagome are just seven years old and where they bond into a friendship.
